The FSO is a contract ensemble open via audition. Musicians are paid a variable amount depending on their seat and role. Most are paid per service, and most concerts have six services (5 rehearsals and concert). The FSO has four concerts per season, and all are on Friday nights at Lifepoint Auditorium in Central Park. The FSO rehearses on select Tuesday nights at James Monroe HS in Fredericksburg. CLICK HERE for the 2023-24 rehearsal schedule.
The FSO also carries a sub list. If there are no openings currently in your section, we encourage you to audition to be a sub. Vacancies also occur mid-year on occasion.
