Full Biography

A native of Kingsville, Texas, bassoonist Walter D. Wynn, III earned his Bachelor of Music from Baylor University and both his Master and Doctor of Musical Arts from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. His teachers include Otto Eifert, E. Sanford Berry, Leonard Sharrow, Dan Welcher, and Dan Phipps. Now in his sixth season as Principal Bassoonist of the Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Wynn also serves as Principal Bassoonist with the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Accord Symphony Orchestra, and the Washington Sinfonietta.

Offstage, Walter serves as Director of the Multifamily Asset Management and Counterparty Oversight Division in the Office of Asset Management at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C.
